What Size Sofa Bed Should You Choose for Overnight Guests

At JC Perreault, most of our sofa beds come in Double (Full) and Queen sizes, both suitable for one or two people. A Double offers plenty of sleeping space while generally keeping the sofa more compact, while a Queen gives two people more room to sleep comfortably.

For comparison, a standard Queen mattress is 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer than a Double. If you have the room, those extra inches can be especially nice when family or friends stay for several nights.

How Comfortable Is a Sofa Bed for Sleeping?

Sofa beds have come a long way, and many models now offer a comfortable place to sleep for the night. At JC Perreault, most of our sofa beds include a mattress, with models available from Jaymar, Palliser, Trendline and La-Z-Boy. Depending on the model, you’ll find memory foam or innerspring mattresses, each offering a different feel and level of support.

Some sofa beds don’t have a separate mattress. Instead, the sofa opens or unfolds so that its sections form the sleeping surface. It’s a different design that can also give family and friends a comfortable place to sleep when they stay over.
